    Re: Moebius' temple.dll

I miss the radiant longsword looking the way it used to be, blue and shiny. I guess I'm just telling Walking Dude he is not alone. That is not to say that all the additional content added isn't great. I really like all the new quests and dialogue ya'll have added, I just wish Atari had finished what they started.

    Ya'll rule, Atari drools:clap:

I'm sure there's a simple way to get that back. Not got time to use the forum search though to find it for you. If not, perhaps Cujo or someone similarly qualified can recommend something.

Thanks Cujo. So which files would you have to delete in order to set the sword back to how it was? Or would it be more complex than, say, resetting the change to the hairstyle you did?

edit: Just throwing this to a new thread for ease of reference in future - Zeb

well it looks like you'd go to data/art/meshes and delete files that look like wg_*****.mdf but they might not even be there, they aren't there in my installs.

the ***** will be one of the follow words
    flaming (is orange)
    magic (is blue)
frost (is a sort of cerulean)
    shocking (is a light blue)
    holy (is white)
    unholy (is red)
    chaotic (is maginta)
    lawful (is pinkish)

or you ould open the mdf and change

    Code:
    Textured
    Color 64 128 255 [B]0[/B]
    NotLit
    ColorFillOnly
    to

    Code:
    Textured
    Color 64 128 255 [B]255[/B]
    NotLit
    ColorFillOnly
btw if you just want a half glow then set the last number at 128.

On a final note I think offical patch 2 messes with the glow effects all by iteself

Cujo, it wasn't a glow effect. In the original game the sword didn't have a glow effect, it was just a brilliant blue color.

    as I said...
Its something I wish hadn't changed as well, where you couldn't tell that the guy you were fighting had a magic weapon just by looking etc.

not much can be done about it I'm afraid.

altho you could try making a couple of files in data/art/meshes, one called wg_holy.mdf and one called wg_law.mdf and putting the following code into them...

    Textured
    Color 64 128 255 255
    NotLit
    ColorFillOnly

I think that Rick-Dog means the blue spiritual longsword (which was the first mesh for the holy longsword that you receive as present for marrying Meleny).
If it's that, he could just check the code for spiritual weapon longsword on the meshes, go to the protos and change the number it has for that other...right?

    I mean that Cujo.

Originally the sword had the spiritual longsword look , you already know, a longsword made of light (blue as it's good aligned, green for the neutral staff, red for evil), not the common longsword with the blue glow of magic enhancement...

Well, last time i've played it had a common longsword mesh (with the blue glow), in fact the most dissapointing one, it's a sword very slim and pointed...but i must say that i didn't liked the spiritual look neither. :errf:
