I want to up-armor Elmo or Zert, but they will not drop their Scale Mail or Chainmail? How can I get them to drop their old armour?

    thanks,

    Tim

only way ive found is to take them out to a tough fight let them get killed then loot them and then raise them back up

Some times you can sell it for them at a shop, or if you equip their new armour they might sell their old armour themself, you wont get any money that way though but it does free up space in their pack.

You can give 'em new stuff...

...but they hang on to the old stuff. Unless this has been modded out or something...

Well i don't know then, they almost always sold the stuff in their packs for me when I played before modding, and only once in a blue moon would an NPC not let me sell something that they hadn't sold themself. Post modding; i don't know, I never loot when I have NPCs in my party.

Don't they lose one or two constitution points for being raised?

In 3.0 and 3.5 you lose a level when raised. If you're level 1, you lost 1 point of Con. ToEE drops you a level's worth of experience, but leaves you at the original level, which on one hand is nice since you don't lose any abilities, but on the other hand sucks because it takes longer to catch back up to the rest of the party.

    Try using...

...Restoration and see what happens to your lost experience.

@ Cujo: I don't know anymore either, 'cause I never play with NPC's anymore period.
