Has anyone ever seen any of the following spells in-game, have knowledge of their disposition in-game, or otherwise have any information on their function in-game if they are something other than player-castable spells? I suspect that many of them are spells that were never implimented, but my D&D knowledge is not that great. Animal Friendship - not in the game Antiplant Shell - not in the game Arcane Eye - not in the game Arcane Lock - not in the game Bless Weapon - not in the game Chaos Hammer - Cleric Chaos domain spell. Also used by Z-Moy Circle of Doom - used to be Mass Inflict Light Wounds in 3.0. Cleric Destruction domain spell Control Plants - on Wonnilon's scroll Darkness - not in the game Darkvision - IN the game, not sure what is is Daylight - not in the game Deeper Darkness - not in the game Detect Poison - not in the game Emotion - not in the game Enervation - not in the game Enthrall - not in the game Fire Trap - not in the game Flame Blade - not in the game Flaming Sphere - not in the game Glyph of Warding - not in the game Greater Command - IN the game Holy Smite - Cleric Good domain spell Hypnotic Pattern - not in the game Hypnotism - not in the game Insect Plague - not in the game Leomund's Secret Chest - not in the game Mage Hand - not in the game Negative Energy Protection - eliminated for 3.5, effects added to Death Ward Polymorph Other - not in the game Polymorph Self - not in the game Pyrotechnics - not in the game Rainbow Pattern - not in the game Random Action - not in the game, whatever it was Rary's Mnemonic Enhancer - not in the game Snare - not in the game Spell Immunity - not in the game Unholy Blight - Cleric Evil domain spell Unseen Servant - not in the game Dispel Water - Cleric Water domain spell Greater Heroism - Is this a Co8 thing or what? Not on dar's list Thanks for checking. (Answers in red.)
Isn't Control Plants the spell Wonnilon has on his scroll? Other than that I know I have not cast any of the spells from that list within game. Don't think I've ever tried to cast Control Plants from the scroll either.
This is an old 3.0 spell that was removed. Druids and Rangers used to use it to gain Animal Companions. Not in the game that I know of. This is a Paladin spell, but not in the game. The Chaos domain's equivalent of Holy Smite. In the game and used by Zuggy and some demons, as well as usable by Clerics with the Chaos domain. This is what Mass Inflict Light Wounds used to be called in 3.0. Wonnilon's scroll has this spell. Not in the game that I know of. This is a 0th level spell. I don't think it's in the game. Not in the game that I know of. Not sure Not in the game that I know of. I think this is in the game. Pretty sure I saw it on some evil priest's spell list today. But I could be confused. 4th level spell of the Good domain. Used to make Holy Weapons. Definitely in the game. Not in the game that I know of. 3rd Level Cleric Spell. In the game. It's effects were rolled into Death Ward in 3.5 and the spell was eliminated. I'm not sure how ToEE handles it, though, as I know it's on the Cleric's list in the game. Not in the game that I know of. Makes target act randomly. I think it was eliminated or renamed for 3.5. Not sure if it's in the game or not. Not in the game that I know of. Wasn't Darmagon working on this one? Evil version of Holy Smite. Make Unholy weapons. Some demons have it. Not in the game. I've found scrolls of this before, so it's in the game. Pretty sure this is a Co8 addition. It's a Bard 5/Wizard 6 spell. Also, there's potions of it scattered about.
For your reference I have attached a file which lists the text files in ToEE3.dat in the data/rules/spells directory. In order for a spell to be useable (AFAIK) this text file must appear in this directory (whether in a .dat file or in the actual game directory tree.) Essentially what the file represents is a list of all of the spells (and spell like things, such as potions, elixirs, magic item effects, and etc.) that are present in a basic ToEE install. The spells listed are what comes with the game before any modification.. The actual spells seem to end at '567 - Reincarnation.txt. but at 608 is an entry for Gate. If anyone is interested the command prompt command line for this is (when you are in the directory which you want to write the contents of to a file): Code: dir /b >outputfile.txt The 'outputfile.txt' part can be just about anything you want but I would recommend keeping the .txt extension for ease of access afterwards.. This command has to, of course, be input in a command prompt window. If you don't know what that is...well you could try asking me and I could try to explain.... Anyway here is the file.
Hey thanks Darmagon, that about answers everything. I'll finish out the list above (based on that file) in case anybody's interested.
Random Action was retagged Lesser Confusion for 3.5, though its effects were not changed (1 target confused for 1 round). Emotion was a multipurpose enchantment spell. It has been split up into separate components (Rage, Crushing Despair, etc.) all of which I believe have been implemented. Anything else? :Being_a_s Blair "Demogorgon, I choose YOU!" :hahano:
