RELEASE: Circle of Eight Mod Pack 2.0.0
I've gone ahead and updated all the files in version 1.1.0 to be compatible with the official patch. The new unofficial patch can currently be found here in rar form, until Exitium releases the official version with an installer.
At that time, this post will be edited to reflect that fact and an official news post will be made on the Atari boards. Enjoy ![]() [Edit]: Updated file to Exitium's version below Changes in version 2.0.0 -Updated all files to be compatible with the official ToEE patch -Removed several assorted spell fixes rendered redundant by the patch -Removed NPC looting fix (NPC looting fixed in patch) -Fix for Masterwork Light Crossbow size -Scather changed to medium weapon 1d10 rather than large weapon 2d6 Download Mirrors: (I hope you guys don't mind me adding this ~ Phalzyr) www.ews.uiuc.edu/~hunsley/files/oEE_Circle_of_Eight_Release_200.rar http://www.co8.org/files/patch/ToEE_...elease_200.rar http://www.kasec.org/toee/TOEE_Co8_200.zip - Installer, Use add/remove programs to uninstall. Now includes an option deafault yes, to install half_share_gold_only for hirables that didn't have nothing.

How does this work? Do you just extract it to the ToEE directory and that's it?

Yup. Just make sure the directories remain as intact as the .rar file and you're set.
I'lll probably make an installer later. |

Editing the files, I think I'll change Scather to a Bastard Sword instead of a Great Sword, which is what it is in the description as well as the original module.
I'm also gettign rid of our various spell fixes such as Soften Earth and Stone, Flame Strike, the Touch spells and Spike Growth. I'm not sure if Grease, Good Hope and Silence are still broken though. |

I've added an UPDATED version of the 2.0.0 patch to the server, which removes our spell fixes for Flame Strike and the various permanent duration spells.
I've also added a fix for Masterwork Light Crossbows, which are now classified as Medium rather than Large. Here: http://www.co8.org/files/patch/ToEE_...elease_200.rar update: I've just re-uploaded the file with a fix for Scather which now does 1d10 damage and is classed as a MEDIUM sized weapon as opposed to a LARGE one which previously did 2d6 damage, being even more powerful than the sword it's supposed to be a duplicate of, Fragarach. Please redownload the file. |

Thank you!
![]() I take it that your other enhancements, such as Ioun Stones and the Read Magic for identifying potions, are still a part of your patch, then?

For the time being , if you wish to uninstall it, just delete the files.

Thank you so much!!!
Now I can actually play the game. I have been waiting for the official patch and then your 2.0 patch to go with it before I even started to get into the game. All I did was make characters for the party before. Now I can start playing tonight. I appreciate all you guys have done for this game. One question, will characters that we made with the 1.1 patch installed be usable with the official patch and this 2.0 co8 patch? |

installer?
Not to sound too much like an idiot, but an installer would be nice =)
As of now, I am unsure just exactly where to unzip these files in the TOEE directory |

Will this installer do? It also gives you the ability to not install a couple things if you don't want but I didn't spend too much time on that feature. You guys want to mirror this?

yeah, that 75% chance for the blacksmith carrying a full helm and a katana.... is that every time i talk to him or do i need to start a new game if he didn't have it this time?
also is that in his shop inventory or somewhere in the dialougue? And why 75%?? why not just 100%? Last edited by rex_blade; November 12th, 2003 at 08:02 PM. |

Unfortunately, when the zip file version is downloaded, it asks for a password when I try to extract it.
And I get a "page not found" when I try the link to the EXE version. Any ideas how I can get hold of a version of the patch I can use? ![]()
