Hi all. I'm new to ToEE and would like to play BG-style if possible, meaning a party of 1 PC and the rest NPCs. Assuming this would be very hard with the 3 NPC limit, is there any mod or console command that allows you to have as many NPCs as you want? I'm playing 5.7.2. Thanks.
There's a selection option in the frontend to set the # in the party. Using just 1 pc can get unstable and there's not that many good npc's to hire. 2pc/6npc works good tho. If the 1 pc dies the game ends. Save often and don't use F5, use ESC and save game instead. Have fun.
I believe the minimum ratio of PCs to NPCs currently available is 3/5, if you want to fill all 8 slots. Five is definitely th emax number of NPCs though. But, don't be expecting a lot of Baldur's Gate style interactions. The NPC storylines are pretty meager. There won't be banters or even much dialogue. Really, my take is that unless you have some specific NPCs in mind you want to take, you might as well just create 7 PCs (with one NPC slot for looting!)
So you think I can have 1 PC and 5 NPCs? That seems manageable to me. EDIT: Ok, front-end setting. Thanks!
PS - I am going for Meleny in particular. Is there a potion/scroll of Eagle's Splender available in Homlet? Thanks again. Also, do NPCs need to be compatible with group alignment?
Check Bourne at the tower for scrools. I'm not sure if he have any Eagle's Splendor scrool, but it's probably. The alignment of the NPC don't need to meet with the party alignment - it's possible to have Lareth along a LG party, for example. But be sure to don't use a Paladin to chat with any evil character ya want in yer party. As Paladins are able of Detect Evil, they will "see" the evil part of the alignment of the NPC, and will not alow him to join the party. But even with a paladin in the party, ya shall take an evil NPC just using other character to hire him.
Hmm, potential problem. Since the NPCs won't drop/trade certain items, encumbrance becomes an issue. Anyway to forcefully remove these items? Thanks.
No. Didn't know that was possible. Is there a special way to initiate dialogue with party members or is it an option on the radial menu? Thanks.
