Re: In the Service of Her Majesty The Queen
I hope you had a good day and the night is going well.
We had our annual safety/emergency meeting at work today, with everyone who works there present. The new building is nice. Lots of safety features. Hidden cameras. A better alarm system. Other things I am not going to mention. The one thing that was missing was hostage training. So I suggested that, another staff person ayed it so to speak, so we will be doing that soon. It was interesting to see the new faces, and the old ones again. To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Sleep within your sweet dream movie, but be sure to step out of it when you wake up the next morning. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night.

Another long day, different, busy, long. Summer is here. It is getting too hot already for me to want anything to do with the outdoors during the day. The heat index has been up around 105 F. I hope the lizards love it. To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Seek for the truth when you sleep, it will hide itself in your dreams, waiting for you to unravel it. Wake up to the weft and warp of the day. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night.

Friday night. The week seems to have gone fast. Hot days and warm nights. Isn't there a song with those words? Or something similar? Hotter nights? Cooked a turkey breast today for sandwiches. I love turkey that I do myself, and can barely tolerate the thin sliced deli stuff. I want turkey on my sandwich thick, with some substance. I don't like my men sliced thin, either. To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Sleep. Dream. Wake. Be happy. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night.

Re: In the Service of Her Majesty The Queen
I hope you had a good day and the night goes well.
It's the weekend...and the dark moon. The moon is in Gemini. Supposedly, this weekend is the best time all month for improving relationships or getting married. June. The month for getting married. And for high school graduations. I was supposed to go to one today. It was held at a conference center on the UF campus, a notorious place for poor parking facilities. I hate going there. But I went. And got stuck in traffic. 1/4 tank of gas to move 3 blocks. I assume one of the reasons for the traffic jam was that people were endlessly circling the parking lot trying to find a spot to park, thus preventing anyone from coming into the lot, etc etc. The other reason was all the cars that were driving down the right hand lane and then cutting into the left hand lane that turned into the campus street leading to the conference center parking lot. Possibly another reason (I wouldn't really know, not having gotten close enough to find out) was that there was no one directing people to alternate places to park, if there were any. So after moving only 3 blocks in probably an hour, I got a chance to turn around and left. I went shopping and spent entirely too much money, which is what I do when I want a quick fix. So a very frustration morning...although I did get some new clothes. To all who sleep tonight on this side of the dark earth, The Nightly Mission: Sleep again. Wake up again. Live again. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night.

The dark moon's influence is still fairly high, but waning. I spent most of the day researching swordsmithing. A very interesting subject, actually. The Japanese have it down. Europe seems to have more swordsmiths than here in the USA, generally tied in with the Celtic movement, if I can call it that. Something that surprised me, is that where I used to live in Oregon, not far from the town I live in, there is a swordsmith of established reputation. One of the few in the USA. Small world. He makes Japanese swords and so did his father. For a living, not a hobby. To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The abbreviated Nightly Mission: Sleep well Dream sweet Wake up Live May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night.

Tonight was hell night at work. I was told it was that way all weekend. Busy all night, and right before I left, a spider came out of the staff bathroom, someone killed it and said it was a brown recluse. So all the way home, I am driving feeling things on my ankles, trying not to think about it. One good thing, I heard the owl hooting on one of the few times I got outside for a few seconds. To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Sleep and float in your dreams. Wake up feeling solid. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night.

Slept off and on a lot today, probably due to all the stress at work Mon night. And I will probably sleep a lot tomorrow, too. I'm going to try to quit smoking, and my plan is to sleep through it for a couple of days. Sleeping is better than being grouchy and chewing up everyone I know into tiny bits and pieces, stomping on what's left and then pouting off into the sunset. Hopefully, all that won't happen. Sleeping makes sure it doesn't. To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The (abbreviated) Nightly Mission: Sleep well and for a loooong time, Wake up and try smiling. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night.

I slept most of the day. And plan on going right back to sleep when I am done here. And eat. Good luck to me. First day almost over. To all who sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Sleep deep and dreamless when you want time to pass. Wake up and blink. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night.

Re: In the Service of Her Majesty The Queen

Busy night at work again, but not crazy chaotic like the other night. Rained all the way home. The road is very dark when it rains, there are no street lights to speak of along it, just the occasional warning lights that are posted by driveways...those little round discs...and they don't do anything much lightwise, except make you hope they aren't a car halfway into the road. No deer obviously out tonight, though. What on earth has happened to my fanboys? Boys? Where are you? It's summer...I'm hot. I need to be fanned. To all who sleep tonight (except fanboys) on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: It is not good to sleep sweltering in the heat, so find a way to cool down some before you go off into dreamland chasing your merry dreams. Wake up refreshed, hopefully. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night.

Smiles at her fanboy, "Ah yes, I do believe there is. Such a busy day, on my feet all day, I was. They are sooo sore, and could do with some um ardent massaging."

Re: In the Service of Her Majesty The Queen

A long day today, but with nothing much going on. It's Friday. I want to go dancing. Wear something flimsy. Heels. Strappy little things that I normally wouldn't want to walk in. Long, dangly earrings, with just enough hair swept back to stop them from tangling in it. Black. Maybe red. Maybe...gasp...white. Nope, not white. My undies would show through, can't have that. Heh. Failing a date in this life, I'll settle for a dance in Second Life, but I will be wearing something much more dangerous there. One of my warrior outfits. To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Sleep when you are tired Wake up when you are not. Simple. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night!

(Thank for catching that, Emirkol)
Picks up wine bottle to pour another libation and drops it squarely on his sandled big toe. He amuses the queen greatly by hopping around the room on one foot yelping before tripping on a low window sill and disappearing. The amusement of the talking pigs is heard wafting up from below...

There were a few huge storms that passed through our area yesterday afternoon and night. I heard on the radio that the winds in Downtown Chicago were pretty fierce. The newscaster had said that people wearing sundresses were having them blown all over the place. My first thought... why the Hells wasn't I there!!?? You just know, by the laws of averages, that at least one of the sun-dressed was "going commando". No damage in Schaumburg, thankfully and power remained on. I love underground utilities! Pretty sure my Dad who lives on the NW side got hammered pretty bad. I'll find out tonight. J and I are hosting a combined early Father's Day/late N's B-Day/a what-the-Hell dinner tonight.

Don't blame the Queen for any blunt force trauma you may have experienced due to repeated whackings...if you spent more time with me, like a proper fanboy would, instead of hanging out with that green woman you are so fond of, you would get whacked much less!

Saturday night. And still, no dancing for me. Sighs. Not even on Second Life. What is the world coming to? Tomorrow is when we celebrate Father's Day here in the US. I hope all of you who are fathers get breakfast in bed, at the very least! To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Abbreviated Mission: Sleep and sleep and sleep. Re: In the Service of Her Majesty The Queen
I hope you had a good day and the night goes well.
A friend of mine told me that he worked a shift at a heat shelter. Heat shelters are set up so those who have no way to deal with the summer heat, during a run of very hot weather, have some place cool to go. My friend lives much further north than I do, and I guess a/c is not always available or affordable. It's a good idea. They should have them here. The homeless shelter takes in people, stacks them on the floor if need be, during the winter when temps go below 40 F, but as far as I know, they don't do anything during the summer. Most homeless shelters do not allow residents to stay at the shelter during the daytime. So here in Florida, that means they go to the library, or stay out in the heat. And it gets hot here. But then, there are lots of people who have to work and do heavy labor at that, all day long in the heat. So I guess it is a matter of perspective. So far, my a/c is working. To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly Mission: Sleep cool. Stay warm when it is cold and cool when it is hot. But sleep. Sleep is good for you. It erases trauma, children grow during their sleep, the body and mind repair itself. Waking up is good for you, too. Keep doing it, too. May the Lady smile at you and me too. G'Night.

To all who will sleep tonight on this side of the earth, The Nightly and Abbreviated Mission: There is something to be said for sleeping in nests, you get bored with laying in one direction, you just move around a little. Just why do we build beds the way we do, anyway. So sleep, in whatever fashion you like. Wake up and stretch. May the Lady smile on you and me too. G'Night.
