character levels

The best crafting enhancements are of course requirments the highest class level, but to get level 10 I'm finding 95% of the game will be done by then. Perhaps thats as it should be though, that those type of enchancements be reserved where there needed most, the elemental nodes and the fungi lady and perhaps Hendrek.

How do you guys get to around level 15? Is it just continious random encounters or am I missing some quests?

Re: character levels

Play with a smaller party.

I typically play with 3 or 4 and no NPCs. 15ish is easy with this. If you want to see what the high levels are really all about play with 1 or 2 (I recommend druid as summoning animals is awesome early on)

Re: character levels

I got to around lvl15 with a 5-person party (no nPCs). Mind you, I did every quest I could and slaughtered everything that moves in the Temple.

Re: character levels

I'm doing that to, but I got 6 people in my party.

I did the gar quest, the orc lair, the moat house, the 'weather problem', all the quests for the air and earth temple and killing everything.

However I'm only nearing 12 and I'm almost done the nodes and everything.

Looks like you need to do the Orc and Orge Caves, Hickory Branch, and place the witch sends you to.

Re: character levels

The witch? You mean the old hag in Nulb? I'll have to talk to her more. Hickory branch sounds familar but I don't think I have done it. Where do I get that quest?

Orc cave? I thought I did that, but what about the Ogre Cave?

Would love more information. Thanks.

A. Mona (the old hag) in Nulb

B. The orc cave and the ogre cave are the same place. Nevets sends you the first time, Alremm sends you the second.

Ask if you need to know more.

I screwed up talking to Mona and will have to wait to do Hickory Branch next game.

Gnarly Woods?

Also sometimes as a good guy talking to Wat I only have the only to say "Yup, that was us!" as the doo-gooders who cleared the moathouse. I can't get any other speech out of him.

Re: character levels

I do but when I started out this party I didn't get that optinion unfortunitly.

I'm going to try finishing the water node first before tackling the balor again. Maybe the water elementals will work well on the balor.

Re: character levels

Gnarley woods is found in the moathouse respawn.

Visit the moathouse dungeon again. Explore it thoroughly and enjoy. You'll find Gnarley Woods there.

Re: character levels

I'm also assuming you did finish all of the quests in Verbobonc...

Balor shouldn't be too bad. It doesn't matter what summons you use really, as long as they distract him for awhile. I recommend the chain demon, he lasts a while. Just make sure you have a well-armed fighter or two with a high +to hit, a strong magic weapon and decent Will save. Buff accordingly (and a lot). Last time I was playing my Paladin with Frostbrand got charmed ^___^ Well, have fun with it.

Also, rest in dangerous areas. There's little that a party of lvl12 charas can be afraid of.

If you're that determined to get extra XP, slaughter all that moves in all the towns, especially Verbobonc =)
