Track Feat

I did a search and found an explanation of how the track feat screen works...but under what circumstances would anyone want to use it?

IIRC, track is connected to the survival skill? So it helps avoid encounters when traveling? If so, then I can see a purpose for the feat, but in ToEE, I can't see any reason for even having the track screen. Unless it has a use further down the line beyond how far I've gotten. I guess I wonder why anyone bothered to put it in the game.

Re: Track Feat

Have you used it? I've found it useful on some maps. Unfortunately its major failing is that it usually tells you only where the npc's in your party are. Perhaps if THAT were blocked, it would tell you that there are monsters thataway.

Re: Track Feat

Could be useful for making sure Elmo and Meleny haven't snuck off into the bushes together.

They had better not! Meleny is married to Noir, my sorcerer.

Edit: Besides...Elmo is the one with the feat.

Talking Re: Track Feat

Elmo has the hots for Fruella. He's a big guy and he likes big women. Him and Fruella have been "close" for a long time. Meleny is too flighty, not his type, but if an opportunity came by. Who knows?

The things I miss by only recruiting Bertram

The distance at which you can track is, if I understand it, based on Survival, so as that goes up, you can pick up critters a longer distance away. If you don't have the whole Temple memorised by now, it can tell you what sort of monsters are coming up around the next corner.

Umm, heterosexuality?

But I don't really know, I never bothered much with track, especially since I know the game inside-out by now... Unless the Reactive Temple mod is ever finished, I don't see it having any use whatsoever.
