hey all.. i have a question regarding vampiric touch. when i cast it on a foe.. the animation appears but nothing else. Nothing gets rolled.. my caster doesnt get hp. But the foe has all of sudden "Temporary HP: 0" on his head.. and when you hit him in melee (prolly magic aswell) a red line flies up from his head saying something like "damage reduced by 0" has any1 witnessed this before? seree
Vampiric Touch works somewhat different than in BG. You cast it on yourself and than you are granted a new icon in the Radial Menu in Combat Actions called Discharge Touch Attack. You need to succeed at a Melee Touch Attack to be successful with it. Some other spells work similarly - Shocking Grasp IE.
Even when cast correctly though the spell is still broken, because it doesn't give the caster temporary hit points on a successful touch attack.
That has been my experience, but a previous post gave me an idea. I've never tried casting it on one of my characters other than the caster. Has anybody ever tried this? Might be worth a try.
