An alternative to the .exe format for the Co8 distribution?

Hi fellow adventurers!

First of all, big thanks to the team behind the Co8 modpack, I can just guess how much work is going on this behind the scene.

I have a request about the Co8, most particularly about the way it is distributed, Would it be possible to have the choice to download a non-.exe archive as an alternative to the standard .exe one? (be it a .zip, a .7z, or anything well supported on multiple platforms)
This would be all I need to include a way to easily install the Co8 on my current project, that aims to an easy and automated installation of ToEE on Linux.

Actually I’m not asking you to build the .zip/.7z archive, I would understand if you don’t want to bother with that. But if I build one myself and send it to you, would you be okay to add it as an alternative download? Or I could even host it on my server if you like (but it won’t allow for fast downloads as my bandwidth is nowhere close to the moddb one).

Please tell me what you think about this slightly unusual request
