    Hi everyone

I tried to run co8 8.10 module (new content) and i am always experiencing crash during "loading protos (cleaning old)".

I searched forum and did everything to try fix this bug:
    So:
    1. I updated my graphic driver and java
    2. I set to compability mode with XP SP3 and "run as admin" option
    3. Disabled intro, tried different resolution both windowed and fullscreened
    4. Tried to reinstall it three times with earlier proper patching
    5. Shutdown zonelarm, firewall and AVG

Also tried to to run frontend via jar.file, but couldn't launch toee.exe file

However game starts normally via TFEE when launching vanilla and KOTB 1.01.

    I am using Win 8.1.

What resolution are you running it at? I would also make sure scaling is turned off.

What is the OS you're using and is it a laptop?

It is funny that KotB runs fine though, might be a good idea to "reactivate" the module one more time.

I disabled scaling and also set one scaling level option (100%) in menu.
    And still doesnt work ;(.
Even when tried 800x600 because it seems to be least problem causing.
However KotB runs normally after reactivating.
I am using win 8.1 on laptop (resolution 1366x768)

I will also check if co8.1 standard edition works

Maybe try running the game in 1766 x 768 resolution, being it is your native res.

If this res is not a choice in the front end options, you can set it in the toee cfg file.

What happens when you choose "Disable Intro Movies"?

It crashes at the same spot, or do you get to the selection screen?

I wish I had a solution for you, but the game will not run on one of my laptops that has an nVidia m series card no matter what I've tried.

Hopefully someone a bit smarter than me will come along and help you. Sorry.

    Well...
It appeared it has only partially fixed problem.
But at least it doesn't crash when start immediately after win8 start.
