cant get a answer from Jayfie

when i talk him about who i must report for work, theres two options (1 and 2), and they are both blanks, and i cant select number two

any ideas?

 

That quest is bugged.You can kill jayfie and you will get a reputation, but it don't complete the quest.

 

Yeah, known issue. It'll be fixed in the next update along with some other issues. Check the CMF bug threads for more info.

I think someone posted the missing dialogue files for download on one of the threads as well. You should be able to patch it into your current game.

 

I put up a zip of the original dlg file that can be copied/pasted so you can complete the quest. Give it a try.

I have a Laborer Foreman, who is in Jayfie's 5.0.x body, and he refers to himself as someone else (because his dialog is the same as the workers).

 

Jayfie is at the top right with a hoodless robe banging on the fence with a hammer. Pretty sneaky,huh.

 

Yes, I found him. But I thought I should report that the foreman refers to himself being absent.

 

Ok thanks I was looking for this...been trying to find missing dialogue to copy paste from TOEE vanilla.

 

All the original files are in ToEE1-4.dat. There's a dat extractor in the download section in modding tools. The .dlg files are in ToEE4.dat which comes with atari patch 2.

I like the Baldur's gate 'relationships' dialogue,it makes the game more interesting,NPC dialogue here is limited. I think there can be more add on to say Furnok who retires after 2000gp(?) or with Melaney after joining the party in game play days becoming pregnant,akin to Aierie in BG..^_* heh.

Appreciate the CO8 mod as it adds depth to the game.
