I s'pose this is the place to post this...

Have you guys ever gotten in touch with anyone from Troika? Know what they are up to, if anything?

It's such a shame that a great engine like TOEE is likely to just rot and not produce new great D&D games... BTW did it belong to them or to Atari?

I think Leonard Boyarsky is working for Blizzard now.

    Jason Anderson left the industry.

Tim Caine is in hiding. There are rumors he is still in the industry but I have not heard where or what he is doing.

    Steve Moret. Not sure.

If anyone else has some info, I am all ears.

owned by Atari...if someone makes and wants to market and sell a new D&D computer game, that has to go through, be approved and be agreed to by Atari.

    damn.

So unless some marketing diva suddenly decides ther's potential in that engine, this is as good as dead... :sadblinky

Sapper Astro, seems you know a lot about the team!

A couple of the guys have been in touch with some of the long-term Co8ers (not me, lest u wonder, I've never spoken to any of them) and have been mighty helpful, but due to contractual reasons we can't ask them some of the really juicy questions.

Sean Craig and I are working at NCsoft now, at their recently opened Orange County office.

I do know other ToEE people have ended up at the following places:
EA, Day One Studios, Sony Online Entertainment, Pandemic, Supervillian Studios, LucasSoft, and many, many others.

Sean would like me to add that he tells everybody he knows that owns ToEE to be sure and grab all the CO8 patches and to look forward to mods that may come out.

Coming from one of the Dev's, that's got to be one of the greatest compliments anyone could give to the Co8!

Oh, well that and making a cameo appearance in a gaming magazine. :D

Best wishes to you and all the old Troika crew, Steve. You've been a great help to Co8 over the years.

(That's probably Orange County, CA, whatsername. ;) )

Oh, nice to actually hear from someone who worked at Troika ! :)

By the way, LucasSoft ... - is that somehow related to LucasArts ?

It's nice to hear from Troika people. ;)
Why do all companies making good games
have to go bankrupt. First Black Isle,
then you (ex-BI if I'm not mistaken) ;)

BTW I thought this could be the new Infinity
Engine, something we, players will be playing
on for years. As I understand you wanted to
make this engine a bit more like the NWN Aurora,
judging from the presence of "modules" folder...
What a shame, you really didn't deserve this.
(Well you mixed up some of the rules, and ToEE
had many bugs, but as I see it, it was Atari who
didn't let Troika work on the title more.

(Congrats on Arcanum, I still play it sometimes)

Sorry whatsername74, we're in Aliso Viejo, CA. Which is a subburb of Orange County CA. Home of many video game companies and most recently a wildfire that is spewing awful ash into the air.
