I keep reading about the ctd issues when a weapon's name gets too long. I currently have my cleric equipped with a +1, +2, +3 holy, shock, mighty cleaving heavy mace. I want to add keen and frost. So, how many names can I have before ctd?
You can sensibly craft your weapon up to the equivalent of a +10 weapon - I think you are +6 equivalent at the moment You can solve the name length problem by moving the cursor to the window at the top right of your weapon /armour creation screen and deleting the present name and replacing it with something shorter before your next crafting e.g. your heavy mace becomes "Mildred" then "keen Mildred" and finally "frost keen Mildred"
I usually name my weapons funny names. The smackinator for a hammer, or really sharp pointy for a rapier ...
It's an editable field so edit it. If you have a Longsword +1 and add the +2 enchant to it, for the love of god don't leave it as "Longsword +1 +2"...just change it to "Longsword +2" And for elemental enchants, rename them to something nice, a Dwarven Waraxe +1 +2 Holy +3 could be called something far nicer, be it "Holy Cleaver" or "Moradin's Razor" or whatever you like
Either you are duplicating "Impact" or whatever the blunt weapon equivalent of keen (introduced in some pnp supplement or other) and editing your mace name accordingly or you resist the temptation to take advantage of your computer......
