Some questions about ToEE

    1.ToEE Front-End X options - Max HP for NPCs

    What's the difference between 'from levels', and 'from HD'. I know it increases NPC's hit point to maximum. 'from level' gives much more hp for npcs than from HD. I can understand what hit dice means, but from levels? Is there level status of Monsters? Playable npc's hp are affected by this option, too? Not a 'Max HP per level' option?
    And finally, if I check this two options, from levels and HD, what happen to monster? It means real hell mode?

    Please teach me^^.


    2. Move and Formation
    Is there other way to fix formation when moving? It's very inconvenient. My PC's positions are changed again and again. Map change also has problem, they are just X formation, not what I setted. Can Mod fix this?


    3. Enough skill rank?

    In manual, 'For some skills, such as Diplomacy, the skill level is checked directly against the DC. For others, such as Tumble, a random 1d20 is added to the skill level each time it is checked, so that success is not always a matter of exceeding the DC.'

    So I guess enough skill rank for exceeding the DC of all skills. Please check it and tell me about this.

    1d20 can be calculate average 10, and at emergency 3~5
    examples)

    Heal check is emergency, 1d20=3, so you need at least 12 rank of healer's heal skill rank.
    Sleight of Hand failure occurs battle, 1d20=1, so you need at least 19 skill rank.
    Open Lock, Search doesn't need instant success, 1d20=10


    Appraise, no limit : more rank, more profit


    Concentration DC :
    10+damage dealt
    10+half of continuous damage
    distracting spell's save DC
    15 entangled
    20 grappling or pinned
    15+spell's level cast defensively
    combat casting feat +4 bonus check

    rank + 1d20 > Concentraion DC


    Disable Device DC :
    20 disarm reset a trap
    25+spell's level magical traps

    Rogue's rank + 1d20 > 25+x DC


    Heal DC : 15

    rank + 1d20 > 15


    Open Lock DC
    20 very simple lock
    25 average lock
    30 good lock
    40 amaging lock(too high;;)

    rank + 1d20 > 30


    Search DC
    20 a typical secret door or a simple trap
    21~ difficult nonmagical trap(rogue)
    25+spell level magic trap(rogue)
    30 well hidden secret door

    rank + 1d20 > 30


    Sleight of Hand DC
    20 lift a small object from a person

    rank + 1d20 > 20


    Spellcraft DC
    15+spell level identify a spell being cast
    learn a spell from spellbook or scroll
    when casting detect magic
    20+spell level identify a spell already in place and effect
    25+spell level After rolling a saving throw against a spell targeted on you, determine what that spell was.

    rank + 1d20 > 15+spell level(for counterspell, learn from scroll, detect magic)


    Tumble DC :
    15 each additional enemy after the first adds +2

    rank + 1d20 > 15+2x

    In SRD
    5 or more tumble rank fight defensively +3 AC
    total defence +6 AC(is it applied in ToEE?)


    Use Magic Device DC
    20+caser level of the spell use a scroll(must have the scroll's spell on you class spell list
    requires a score ability(10+spell level)
    20 use a wand

    rank + 1d20 > 20+required caster level


    Hide, LIsten, Move Silently, Spot DC :
    Opposing skill's rank
    rank + 1d20 > opponents's skill check + 1d20


    Survival DC :
    most dangerous monster's CR(Engaged in world map)

    rank > strongest Monster's CR(Who the hell he is?)


    Bluff, Diplomacy, Gather information, Intimidate, Sense motive DC

    rank > DC in dialogue(I guess maximum is 20 in Co8 mod)


    These are just my thought. If anyone knows machanism of skill system in ToEE or Co8 mod, please read carefully and tell me what's going on.^^ Please.

    Skill points are set in protos for npc's/monsters and the game engine for pc's. They are based on class/level and can't exceed a certain point for level/class. They can only be changed at level-up. You can use the feat 'skill focus' to boost a skill. A lot of the skills are not functional in the game.

    Thank you for reply.^^ That's sad, a lot of skills are not functional.

    I guess this game 'ToEE' will be my lastest game in my life. I wish this game made more perfectly. And that's why I really thank all modders. They makes this game more enjoyable, and that process still go on.

    And, what about first question, 'from Level, from HD'. Anyone who knows this exactly, please let me know.
