Looks like the same issue happens with mystic theurge. I see your point, maybe it should have new spells appropriate for when it levels up.

@Sitra Achara One more thing. I noticed that Blackguards must be evil, and in their description, they can gain abilities if they previously had levels in paladin. However, paladins can only be lawful good, so how does this work? Will we be able to in the future have evil paladins?

@sirchet I looked it up when I was implementing it and the rules lawyers said that the wizards' selecting two spells on levelup is strictly a wizard benefit and is not conferred to PrC's. Like you said you can still learn from scrolls.
This is in contrast to Sorcerer/Bard spells btw, where the lawyers argued that while it's not specifically mentioned in the rules it would be severely crippling not to have spell selection, so I did implement that.
Similarly the Mystic Theurge will get the appropriate Divine spells.

That said I've seen a few requests for laxer rules here and there, I might take them as a group and offer them as a choice in the House Rules menu.

I'll implement it so that you have to be a Fallen Paladin, and after choosing BG your aligment changes to Evil (in lieu of alignment shifting mechanics in ToEE)

Would this also be subject to party alignment? In which case, the only way to have an evil party member and a paladin is if your party alignment on the start of the game was lawful neutral. Which would effectively mean that every blackguard ever would be lawful evil.

You mean every Blackguard that converted from Paladin ;) but no, I think I wouldn't enforce that. For example you can still take Evil NPCs, not to mention nothing stops you from slaughtering Hommlet regardless of what it says on paper.

(also, to be clear, you'll still be able to take Blackguard without being a Fallen Paladin if all the other conditions apply)

Ah, true, I momentarily forgot that fallen pally isn't a prereq, just a bonus.

I just looked at Dwarven Defender in game, there appears to be no feat for him to show class skills that he has defensive stance. Also, when using defensive stance and then being winded, there are no buff/debuff flags on the character portrait showing you what is happening and how long it happens.

This is something a DM would usually make a call on, but in my opinion being that the selection of scrolls to choose from are somewhat lacking until you get to Verbobonc, I would like to see an option to choose at least one spell at level up.

Of course, I am also happy to play it the way it is. I'm sure you have more on your plate than adding options to appease one player. ;)

I looked it up again and it seems that it's just an artifact of poor wording in early 3.5, clarified in some faq etc (I think I had originally focused on the Sorcerer issue so didn't notice the same discussion on the Wizard). It's a bit hard to discern what's Pathfinder and what's 3.5, but I'm happy to let players choose spells anyway.

Yeah, it's currently unhandled and you can go beyond the highest specified level. Not a big issue right now since you'd usually be at least level 15 at that point, but I guess I'll grey it out.

True, I still have to improve in-game documentation for the PrC's.

Added for 1.0.17 (had to hook the text callback so it doesn't display a spell name). Use spell enum -2 for that now.

I've noticed a minor "feature" ( I won't call it a bug because it works to my advantage ). Every time I create a bard ( using the roll dice method for what it's worth ), said bard starts with a Long Sword, Short Sword, Rapier, Long Bow and a Short Bow.
When I check the inventory as soon as I enter the starting shop map, the bard has those items in inventory.

Yup, noticed that myself, hardly had to buy any weapons for the whole party as I just redistributed the bard's booty so to speak ;)

What is the proper place to ask for help about temple+ ? After installing it, I can't seem to get it to launch the game using the start menu shortcuts.

Hi, can you post the logfile? It's located in C:\Users\<YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME>\Saved Games\TemplePlus.

You can also refer to this thread:
    http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/index.php?threads/temple-support.98897/
I prefer handling support requests there since it's easier for me to keep track of.

(also, not sure how the admins here feel about getting Temple+ spam...)

I'd just like to say thanks to Sitra, alongside the Co8 team of course, for keeping this great (if flawed) game alive and, just as importantly, more moddable. I've always wanted to play a "gish" (fighter/mage) character in ToEE and thanks to the new prestige classes I can. The SRD Eldritch Knight isn't as good as the Pathfinder version, nor as good as the Abjurant Champion or PF Magus, but it's a heck of lot more viable than a vanilla Fighter 4/Wizard 16 type of build. So thanks to all your hard work; I'm looking forward to the Assassin and Blackguard in the future. I might even try to make a few tweaks myself, if I can learn Python.
