Fundraiser: Circle of Eight Forum Software Upgrade

Attention all Co8 members:

We're going to upgrade the site's forum software soon from the old vBulletin to XenForo. vBulletin is outdated and increasingly un-updateable and isn't really a stable piece of software anymore, whereas XenForo is a more modern platform that is stable and updated regularly. Our site host, Sorcerer's Place, has already updated many of the other sites it hosts, as well as Sorcerer's Place itself.

co8.org itself won't change very much in appearance. This will be an upgrade primarily to provide stability and do some future-proofing, though there will also be some improvements to file hosting and other behind-the-scenes things like that.

To that end, being as Co8 isn't a for-profit site with any form of revenue, we need to generate funds for the upgrade via donations. The amount needed is US$350, which will cover the expense of the XenForo license, the cost to have the forum professionally ported, and additional license renewal costs so we're secure for some time.

And now, let's talk perks! If you become a sponsor by donating, you'll receive a custom user title as such. Maybe not much, but hey, we're all about the game here.
