    Thats the insert item effect for Ioun Stones. I am willing to bet both shops sell them. I will fix it so that effect only plays for for critters not boxes.

    It looks like an older utilities.py file was rolled into v8 - attached the latest one. (otherwise the bugbear room flank scripting doesn't work)


    edit - changed to merged version as per Gaear's comment

    I thought I had compared all the utlities.py changes in, but beware - that ^ one will break endslides if you overwrite the installed one.

    Ok, here's a little hot fix for some bugs:

    - gets rid of the Ioun Stones animation when they respawn in a merchant's box - it still plays when they are given to a character.

    - fixes a similar bug where the Merchant's Scale was destroying the eyeglasses in R&G's inventory box (still occurs if characters have both in their possession, to prevent the exploit of them stacking).

    - by a fortuitous coinkidink, the latter is the same file that controls the Zombies saying "brains, brains...". Thats been fixed to coincide with the updated narrative.mes file.

    Unzip to the data folder, it will overwrite 2 .py files in the scr folder.

    Is this fix just for the 7.x series, or can we use it with 8.0?

    Well, it is based on 7.9, but I would better dollars to donuts those two files have not changed. Pls wait for Gaear to authenticate, but it won't break games or need restarts or anything. It is indeed a 'hot fix'. :)

    They indeed did not change between 7.9 and 8.0.

    The following information applies to the Co8 Modpack 7.9.0 NC.

    Wakefield's Black Rod is already identified.

    King Battlehammer's Dwarven Plate +2 is already identified and it has the identifed name "Magic Dwarven Plate" (instead of "Dwarven Plate +2").

    feat.mes has the word "henceforth" twice in only a 3-word portion of a sentence:


    FIXED

    long_description.mes has 2 errors (it should read "This armor has a +2 enhancement bonus", and it should read "greathammer" because a warhammer is a 1-handed weapon for medium-sized creatures (such as humans), but Moradin's Soul Hammer is a 2-handed weapon for medium-sized creatures):

    Abathor's Greed Hammer +1 has the unidentified name "Radiant Greathammer". Only unidentified Holy weapons are supposed to have the prefix "Radiant". Abathor's Greed Hammer +1 is an unholy weapon, so it should have the unidentifed prefix "Blighted".

    In Hommlet, the sound effect for the waterwheel is way too loud.

    The vendor Senshock doesn't seem to refresh his items. Simon was refreshing his items on what seemed like a daily basis, but Senshock never refreshed his items after about 2 weeks of game time.

    The Gremlich has a CR (Challenge Rating) of 0.

    One time, I noticed that my paladin received a -4 penalty instead of a bonus for his Divine Grace class ability for a saving throw (see screenshot below). The next time that I checked my paladin's saving throw, he received the correct bonus due to his Divine Grace class ability.

    During the 'War of the Golden Skull: Defender', I experienced bad lag (lasting up to about half a minute or a minute at worst at a time) near the Grove when I approached the Grove from the north. I reloaded my last saved game before approaching the Grove, then approached the Grove from the east, and I did not experience any lag at all.

    When Zaxis made a Perform check to use the Fascinate bardic ability, the DC for his Perform check was 0 (see screenshot below).

    I completed the 'Snitching On the Scarlet Brotherhood' quest by reporting to Captain Absalom (the officer on the ground floor) in the Verbobonc Constabulary after Darlia mentioned the 'Robbery at the Hostel' quest, then after I finished everything else in the game, I travelled around the world map for as long as I could be bothered (it seemed like months of travelling on the world map) and I never had the Scarlet Brotherhood revenge random encounter (this is the second playthrough of the game where I have completed the 'Snitching On the Scarlet Brotherhood' quest but never had the Scarlet Brotherhood revenge random encounter). While doing this, the only special random encounters I had were Zaxis and the Band of Adventurers. The first time that I had the random encounter with the Band of Adventurers, Ikian (Cleric) did not initiate dialog with my party when any of my PCs approached Ikian. I had to left-click on Ikian to start conversation with him. When Ikian asked my PC "Where are your adventures taking you?", the only dialogue option I had to respond with was "I'd rather not say." (i.e. I did not have the dialogue option "I have to deal with some old demoness. She controls fungus and mucus and whatnot"). Then when we ended the conversation on friendly (or neutral) terms, the band of adventurers did not run away and disappear - they just stood in their original positions. I left-clicked on Ikian again, and this started a conversation as if we had never talked before (i.e. I had all of the same dialogue as the first time that I conversed with Ikian. I was able to repeat this dialogue routine endlessly. After I left the random map, when I appeared on the next map (after travelling there on the world map), the Rest Icon in the bottom right corner of the screen was coloured red. Left-clicking on the red Rest Icon caused an immediate CTD. So I reloaded my last saved game before I had the encounter with the Band of Adventurers, travelled around the world map until I got the encounter with the band of adventurers, and this time the encounter worked as intended, and I did not get a red Rest Icon afterwards.

    I never got the 'Of Castles and Quarries' quest even though I completed the 'Tools of the Trade' quest. I never got to talk to King Battlehammer because King Battlehammer joined the combat queue of a combat that I was in with the pack of Dwarf Fighters (before) in front of him.
